"Wish You Were Here" è un brano realizzato dalla cantautrice canadese Avril Lavigne. Estratto come terzo brano dal suo album "GoodBye Lullaby". E' stato prodotto e scritto dalla stessa Lavigne insieme a Shellback e Max Martin. "Wish You Were Here" è il brano che piu' si distacca dal power pop e che rappresenta intensamente lo stile dell'album. Il video contiene immagini crude e le lacrime di Avril sono piu' vere che mai, visto il coinvolgimento autobiografico tutt'altro che felice..
Giudizio finale
Il brano si apre con la voce della cantante canadese seguita dalla dolce melodia di chitarra che accompagna la parte vocale fino a diventare piu' potente; si aggiungono batteria, percussioni e nel ritornello tutto esplode. La disperazione di Avril si fa sentire insieme alla rabbia e tutto sembra fermarsi, nella speranza di poter tornare indietro. E le lacrime scendono veloci, l'arrangiamento nel ritornello sembra richiamare tutte le possibilità di migliorare le cose con un ritmo veloce e coinvolgente, ma non c'è nulla da fare e la voce potente di Lavigne esplode toccando quasi il cuore di chi la ascolta. Nel video Avril Lavigne è diversa, non piu' con i capelli rosa e le calze nere, ma con un vestito bianco un po' bagnato dalle troppe lacrime, che rappresenta un po' tutte le ragazze che sentono la mancanza del loro uomo.
