"Drive By" è un brano musicale del gruppo americano Train, estratto come primo singolo dal loro sesto album, "California 37".
La canzone è stato scritta da Espionage, Espen Lind e Patrick Monahan. Il video si apre con Patrick Monahan che parla con la sua ex fidanzata che lo riprende, accusandolo di essere stata lasciata da lui, prima di rivelargli di dover andare a lavorare, e poi riattacca. Monahan, quindi, va nel suo garage e sale sulla sua Pontiac Firebird, iniziando a guidare per San Francisco.

Giudizio finale
La canzone si apre con una decisa esecuzione di chitarra che introduce la voce del frontman della band, Patrick Monahan, il quale dimostra una spiccata qualità e potenza del timbro vocale. L'arrangiamento è interessante: la chitarra svolge un ruolo decisivo e spesso la sonorità tende ad abbassarsi per poi rialzarsi in maniera sempre più forte e decisa; nel ritornello la batteria di Underwood si combina alla chitarra di Strafford mentre la voce egregia di Monahan viene sostenuta dal coro eseguito dal chitarrista della band. Anche il video desta particolare interesse: è una storia continua, un uomo e una donna che, dopo contrasti, divergenze e litigi si riconciliano al meglio dopo l'amore dimostrato dall'uomo, interpretato da Monahan che, dopo una divertente "parata di auto", si rivolge alla sua donna citando 3 frasi, che sono anche le prime 3 del ritornello: "Oh I swear to you, I'll be there for you, this is not a drive-by" ("Oh te lo giuro, sarò qui per te, questa non è una toccata e fuga").
